I happened to go past the 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 channels broadcasting SDPB-TV in central SD and found 3 new channels. 10.4 will be a new all children educational channel (as of Jan 16, 2017), 10.5 is audio only and carries same info as SDPB-Radio, 10.6 is a 24-hour per day classical music audio channel.
I am finding some of the new talk shows on SDPB-Radio somewhat interesting now and then, but also miss the classical music. It is good we can now get a dose of classical music on the new channel.
I don't know anything about HD radio, but perhaps it is time to learn a bit more about it rather than devote a TV to an audio signal only, but in the meantime....
Also, just found out the Kevin Woster has a new blog on SDPB website. On the Other Hand with Kevin Woster. Check it out. Post and sign up. One message is a bit confusing there. When it says something like "Send confirmation e-mail " click that and then check your email inbox for confirmation.

We watched most of what might be the first in SDPB-TV Savor South Dakota series on South Dakota cooks and cooking. It was interesting. The program might provide a bit more information on recipes, locations, etc because it is easy to miss such info if it is only on screen once for a few seconds.
Anyway, it is something South Dakota has needed for some time. Now if they can work in doing good cooking in a food desert, they will be providing a real service.
The show is worth watching. No pretension....just get the cooking done. Take a look at the website below.

The weather wasn't bad but a bit grey for good photos. Anyway, a meeting of the rabble-rousers and movers and shakers hunting pheasants at the Nick and Mary Jo Nemec place went off without serious injury. About 14 of us with widely differing political and social perspectives had a good time tromping around the Nemec land near Holabird, SD. Some of the group excelled at hunting and some of us just managed to do a pretty good job of eating Mary Jo's good chili. John Cooper gave a short hunting safety message...including don't shoot toward the ground with blockers at the end of the field, only shoot a bird if there is blue sky under it, don't swing around and shoot birds behind you, and if you shoot a hen, I will write a complaint, etc. Below are a few images of varying quality.

A short rest in the field. Can't remember if this is before or after they tromped through a now dry wet area with grass and reeds over their heads.
He just had to show off the bright colors of these roosterss. According to Bob Newland, this is about half the bird harvest for the afternoon.
I do wonder what these two guys were talking about. Cory Heidelberger on the far left and SD AG Marty Jackley on the far right.
Well, those are probably enough photos from me. The Facebook pages of Bob Newland and Kevin Woster give a bit more perspective on the event than I managed to capture.
Unlike the mideast, this group of very mixed perspectives on politics, government, religion, society, and hunting dogs with a lot of guns mingled without a single stabbing, explosion, or shotgun blast in the gut. I think I have a reasonably correct list of the participants: Eric Abrahamson, John Cooper, Cory Heidelberger, Sam Hurst, Lynn Jurens, Bob Mercer, Nick Nemec, Bob Newland, Marty Jackley and son Michael, Jeremiah M. Murphy, Lee Schoenbeck, Bill Walsh, Doug Wiken and ringmaster Kevin Woster. Sorry if I missed anyone or spelled a name wrongly. It was fun. Met a few people I had never seen before, and some I had not seen for many years.

In news around the South Dakota Blogosphere, I notice that Cory Heidelberger's MADVILLE TIMES has a new name. It is now Dakota Free Press. That does not mean that Cory has turned his blog into a laundry with free ironing. He is making use of the Constitutional guarantees of Freedom of the Press and freedom of speech and wants the world to know that. You can find his "NEW" blog at Dakota Free Press.
Help him baptize his new baby. Sometime next week I will get Madville Times renamed in the blog list in the left hand column.

A commenter or two over at Madville Times discovered a Nation Magazine story on Mike Rounds titled "Revealed: A New Ethics Scandal Involving the GOP'S South Dakota Senate Candidate." Rancid Rounds Reeks in the article. His cohorts don't smell all that good either.

South Dakota Plutocrats and Kleptocrats do not serve average South Dakotans well. Rounds certainly will not be a good representative of real South Dakota values if he sneaks into Washington under a dark cloud of allegations and facts.

The Constant Commoner blog by John Tsitrian often has very good posts. I finally got around to adding a link in the "Read SD Blogs" list to the left. Recently he has added the gutting of Mike Rounds by Katie Zerr, and others displaying the duplicity that makes up much of the Mike Rounds sleazy campaign.
Take a regular look at the other blogs in the list as well. Right now Stan Adelstein however is in the Solid Republican for Rounds category. I obviously think he is grossly mistaken in his support of Rounds. His reasons omit too many salient facts to be taken seriously. Adelstein does have a good post going back to the Eisenhower days and a SD Republican National committee woman. That is interesting and says much about both Eisenhower and Sen. Karl Mundt.
And of course, look at Madville Times for the best summary of what is EB-5 and why it makes diced hash of GOP "Values" campaigns.

That is darn near heresy out here in the boondocks. Mobridge is in the middle of some mighty strong Republican counties.
I hope it is a sign that other newspapers will start to see the light that illuminates the political fraud that is Mike Rounds and seriously consider if he is fit to be a US Senator. Rounds lies about his own lies and lies about what Rick Weiland and Larry Pressler really support or oppose. The Rounds campaign is ripe with the corruption that oozes out of campaigns drowning in their own slime.
