Another rainy damp day in Winner, SD and another funeral. Doyle Mathis and his brother Dick have been businessmen in Winner since they left Meckling and Yankton, SD 60 years or so ago. My children have rented farm land to Dick and Doyle for several years. When I was either in later years of grade school or high school back at Wakonda Public School, the Mathis Brothers opened an International Harvester store north of Yankton, SD. I don't remember, but it was not too many years before they moved to Winner, SD and bought the business that has been running for 60 years. You can read the obituary at link below. Condolences to his family, wife, children, and grandchildren and they occupied a few pews at the local United Methodist Church this morning.
