Yesterday evening and early this morning, the wind in Winner was literally roaring through the trees. Blowing hard enough to whip snow up in the air about 30 or 40 feet and causing ground blizzard conditions in the country. Wiley Field National 3-Day Weather showed wind speeds in the steady 40mph area and gusts to 54 mph. Wind noise lasted most of the night.
The good news is that the temperature went up above freezing and this morning there is more of a breeze and less of a wind.
And with all the wind noise, waking up to NPR this morning and hearing them interview John Dean put me in the mode for a good strong cup of coffee. John Dean, of Watergate infamy, said that Trump was too much like Nixon in Nixon's worst characteristics. A near quote: "Trump has "authoritarian proclivities" to much like Richard Nixon." Despite this, I don't think Trump and his NeanderPol spokesliars have generated enough hot air to take bigly credit for last nights wind and warming.
