No sign of Dakota Today on web yesterday. TypePad was down again. I think TypePad has had more "outages" in the last few months than in several previous years. Of course, seems to be working now, or I would not be posting here.
Also, Madville Times does not seem to be working. Just a couple cryptic error messages. Of course that leaves a few South Dakota blogs anyway. See links at right. [[[ UPDATE Sun June 15, 2014: I cleared the Cached Web Content in Firefox and now Madville Times is accessible. To clear the Web Cache, Click on the "=" bars in upper right for the menu. Then in order, Options--- Network---Cached Web Content-- Clear Now. And then at least this morning, the lost is found on Cory's new server.]]]
Another damp depressing day. Guess mowing the damn lawn yesterday was a timely decision after all.
A couple tiny bits of humor in the cartoons recently. One of the Lockhorns cartoons had the caption, "Lorretta only used organic ingredients. It is a natural disaster." And then there is "Shoe" with, " What are you giving your psychiatrist for his birthday? ........ A nice pair of Freudian slippers."
There are many days when I wish we bloggers could post national cartoons without being hammered with copyright suits. "Earl" is another that regularly hits the farming, marriage, mothers-in-law, ranching, and horses buttons and some are truly funny...at least to me.
And, today I got a Farther's Day card from my son. It had a Tundra cartoon with two woodpeckers on opposite sides of the same tree trunk. One pecking a hole with his beak and the other using an electric drill. Inside was a nice note about a "true craftsman" father. Nothing about being a wordsmith as you may guess after reading this. Woodsmiths probably not amused of course.
And, My wife's birthday and Flagday fall on the same day. I usually remember one or the other.
*** Stay tuned and watch for your own favorite cartoons and holidays. It is about the least we can do....literally---- Doug Wiken
