Wade Brandis

I initially thought I wasn't going to like Windows 8, and I admit, the new Start screen takes a lot of time to get used to. It would work far better on a tablet than a desktop.

Even so, I now think the Start screen isn't as bad as I thought it was. I mostly use the Windows 8.1 Desktop mode and rarely use any of the "Metro" apps myself. The only time the Start screen can get cumbersome to me is finding a program that you want to run, but no shortcut is on the taskbar or desktop.

In short, Windows 8.1 is not too bad in my opinion. Then again, I was probably one of the 10 people in the world who actually liked Windows Vista, so there's that. I have always been a Windows guy.
