According to KELOLAND report of an AP story, 45 Republicans and 11 Democrats in the US Senate have passed a bill supporting the XL Pipeline.
The story claims the oil will go south to the US. It fails to note that the actual plan is to export the oil to China in order to get the "glut" of crude oil out of the midwest. Trans Canada has indicated the primary push behind the pipeline is to get gasoline and diesel fuel prices increased in the midwest by 10 to 20 cents per gallon. The story also fails to note that China is invested in the Tar Sands oil and probably also in the pipeline.
The KELOLand Story shows a lot of "likes". No place for a comments however. There is no apparent limit to optomistic ignorance and flattering media propaganda for this ecologic disaster. The deception spewed for this pipeline started with the first dog and pony shows in South Dakota a couple years ago and have continued unabated since. The Congressional Republicans are milking this project for partisan contributions. The Democrats who signed onto this must also be hoping for "contributions" from the fossil fuels industies. They are selling their souls on the cheap.
