So-called intellectual property (copyright/patents) has become progressively more onerous to the point of stifling scientific research. I am not going to labor on. To learn more please visit my posts, Against Monopoly, or TechDirt.

[[[ Dakota Today NOTE: Do take a look at the blog of Steve R. and also check the TechDirt link mentioned.

It seems problematic to deny us the opportunity to study organisms that are being planted on a wide scale. What impact are they having on the soil and surrounding plants and wildlife? How do Seeds A, B, and C and the products of Corporations X, Y, and Z compare? Those seem like pretty basic and important questions that everyone is entitled to investigate independently. Grrr!
