The Dakota Today Dakota Digest about a foot down the left-hand column had gotten seriously out-of-date. Some blogs died, some moved, some changed RSS info. Anyway, you might want to check it for the latest news around the SD Blogosphere.
Now it includes: Bob Mercer, Constant Commoner, Prairie Progressive, Madville Times, Northern Plains News, South Dakota Magazine, And a few more to come as I dig out the RSS feeds.
I am more convinced than ever that you will get more useful, valid information from independent blogs than from corporate media even when the "newsmen" claim independence. I listened to SDPB-Radio today with the "political pundits"-- Kevin Woster, and Jon M. Hunter(?). They went out of their way to say nice things about Mike Rounds performance in the GOP debates..never mentioning a thing about what he said which included obvious falsehoods and misrepresentation of reality. Nothing about the grotesque idea that Obamacare would destroy the United States, Nothing about how there would be an incredible tax increases in South Dakota if the US Dept of Education were actually shut down. In fact, nothing much about anything you can find today on several SD Blogs.
Of course there are no corporate guardians overseeing independent blogs. No corporate bean counters busy counting Mike Round's $9 million campaign cash cache with hopes it will flood TV stations and newspapers with enough cash to justify all kinds of pay increases for executives and editors.
Anyway, enough of that for tonight. Even Uncle Jimmo's jazz on SDPB-Radio might not keep me seriously awake tonight. I watched Frontline earlier tonight and the double talk and outright lies from US Government and corporations should wake up all of us. More on this tomorrow. Check up at Frontline on "The United States of Secrecy--Parts 1 and 2.
