Oh dear, my dear. I fear I watched CBS morning blather today and was less than impressed. The women there spent about half the program discussing the gown that Michelle Obama wore to the inaugural balls and with fawning references to the wonderful colors of the clothes worn by the two Obama daughters.
No sense wasting any time on heavy actual news when fluff is so much easier to shovel.
My reaction to much of the inauguration is that it was mostly excess. There was excess prayers to a non-existent diety, there was an excess of capitulation to an illegal alien invasion, there was excess irrelevant rhetoric making it all easily forgotten. There were excess flags and excess bunting. There was excess everywhere.
On the bright side, Obama did make passing references to the global warming problem and a hint of progressive backbone for once. Good too was another peaceful transition of power even if it was the same guy who took over 4 years ago. Good too was that millions of people watched in person or via television.
