The Mitchell Daily Republic has a front page story from Planet Thune spewing a stream of partisan nonsense disconnected from facts and reality, but firmly connected to partisan hackery. The Daily Republic---"SD senator prods president on energy policy"
Thune urges clearing the regulatory path in order to boost oil production. Clearing the regulatory path will more likely produce more pollution and more destruction of individual property rights and resources. Thune it is said by Denise Ross joins a barrage of gas complaints by Republicans. They are certainly signing the same nonsense syllables from the same nonsense song. Thune asserts 4.5 Billion barrels of of oil are "just sitting" there. No documentation of that however. I imagine there may be billions more barrels just sitting there somewhere waiting for prices to increase sufficiently to guaranteed the fossil fuel industry supporting the GOP billions of profits.
Thune claims he understands the long-term goal of getting away from oil. That is the problem. It should be the short-term goal of getting away from oil and fossil fuels in the long run. Aliens like those from Planet Thune don't care if our environment is destroyed needlessly so long as the contributions flood the GOP coffers. Thune says, "Obvama has literally gone out of the way to block development of American Energy Resources. It's got to stop". This is blithering nonsense. Thune knows better or if he doesn't he is ignorant beyond belief.
He attacks Hillary Clinton and Obama for requesting the Saudi's increase oil production. That seems eminently sensible if the Saudi's are willing to continue exhausting their only real economic resource and also thus reduce the income coming into the hands of the lunatic Iranian leadership mongering for a war against all infidels. Thune might want to think about that international issue.
Now, if you want to see some actual facts on US oil production which appears to have steadily increased during the Obama administration, check the links below.

Thune and other retrograde Republicans are part of the vast energy and environment problem and certainly not of the solutions. His interest in spewing partisan mythology overides reality.

IFC indeed! I really like that acronym. I'll have to use it in suitable instances. Thanks.
