This afternoon, SDPB-TV carried coverage of the SD Senate today when they killed a resolution supporting postal service in South Dakota, and passed a resolution urging instruction in the bible as literature to be an elective in SD Public Schools.
Those who think there is a deity, ought to be forced to produce objectiveproof of such existence before dragging their mythology into legislation or resolutions. Short of that, they need mental tests.
Of course in the past, the SD legislature has also produced resolutions or legislation urging consulting astrology to determine if global warming is something that should be ignored or taken seriously.
It is bad enough when public school teachers refuse to teach evolution in a biology class, but give them a prod in the direction of bible instruction in school, and biology will turn into a series of who begat whoms thousands of years ago with search for evidence of a great flood, etc.,etc..
If South Dakota is the laughing stock of the nation, a good share of the credit will go to the South Dakota legislature.

The SD legislature is way too frequently best described as "embarrassing." This is one of those occasions.
