It isn't really April Fool's Day, but in the spirit of conservative businessmen opposed to big government now demanding aid because the built buinesses or homes on ground literally inches above the Missouri River on old silt, we have below a new mandatory standard design for homes and businesses built on low ground near the Missouri River.
No limit on the size for those who love big Mackeral Mansions with mosquitos and river view.. Anchoring requirements are still undefined.
Congress should think twice about any plans that finance continued living in inappropriate areas near rivers and concentrate on moving homes to higher ground. Perhaps a sliding scale of some kind. 100% or reasonable organized moving costs, down to about 10% of rebuilding and cleanup costs if buildings within some specified distance from river or elevation above regular river level.
Conservatives who want to make sure that the unrich can live in the poverty God intended for them also seem to think their wealth and consequent obvious morality warrants that they deserve all kinds of federal aid when shit hits the fan.
