"The Return of Tom Daschle" story by Fineman at MSNBC indicates Daschle and former staff are jumping on the Obama campaign wagon. Obama and Hillary share a similar problem. They have to be head and shoulders above any white male epublican candidate in a national election to overcome the fundamentalist propaganda about women and also the GOP "Southern Strategy" to vilify "uppity" blacks seeking political power in the South.

I don't think Obama has a chance of winning a national election, but interesting that Daschle people are working for him anyway.
Meanwhile back in South Dakota, the State Democratic Party is begging for money without providing any actual details on how it will be used better in the next election than it has been in the last half dozen.
Sounds like the Bed and Booze Screw our Visitors taxes were defeated in Winner, but passed in Gregory, SD.

About the Dem Party spending, you will know them by their fruits. 2004 was a great year, the SD Dem Common Ground initiative gave backup to help bring in new Senate candidates that with their ability to block a supermajority blocked ALL FOUR abortion bills. These legislators really showed what they can do this term to break the Republican monologue and I am looking forward to more.
I really don't think this would have happened without the state party's continual push in the press. It was a low budget operation because they don't have much budget.
Although the SD Dems have their challenges, I'm quite optimistic that they can do more in 08. The state party can only help if they get money.
