**HD Radio is coming..or here already

A few weeks ago, South Dakota Public Broadcasting had on public radio a noon forum program about HD Radio.
The program included an SDPB radio broadcast specialist and the owner or manager of a South Dakota firm which is selling the HD radios they have apparently designed.

I was interested since it was new technology and also related to South Dakota. Apparently HD radio broadcasts are available from South Dakota Public Broadcasting radio stations. I have never listened to one of these systems, but I have read some forum comments from HD radio users in other areas indicating that HD radio is something special.

I took the time to check their website for information and also checked a few other sites. So, if you want to help keep Dakota Today going and want good radio, click on the images below.

There are two versions with different features. A $99 version and a higher-priced version.

Check on both or either depending on your desired features or what your spouse will let you spend or what you can hide from your dear old dad or mom.

If I get my butt in gear and clean up Dakota Today a bit, I may have a section reserved for ads that I hope some readers will find interesting; but without making the ads an obnoxious annoyance for reading Dakota Today. Right now it is late and this has taken a lot more time than I expected.

If you decide to get one of these radios and it works or doesn't work, let me know or comment on this post.

**Stay tuned..and help keep the economy moving...even if rather slowly--- Doug Wiken

The FCC has just given away our free airwaves to a few corporate thugs, including iBiquity Digital Corporation. This whole setup is just to the advantage of the HD Radio Alliance, as they own most of the 1,200 stations broadcasting in HD - the small mom-and-pop stations have lost coverage and will probably disappear. This FCC sole-source, non-competitive contract award to iBiquity is totally outrageous. The FCC has left it up to the marketplace, to determine the fate of HD Radio. HD Radio/IBOC is a farce !
